GST fraud worth over Rs 1100 crore by 69 fake firms in Haryana

Excise &Taxation Department Haryana detected GST frauds worth over Rs 1100 crore by 69 fake registered firms in the state cheated department to get input credit tax (ICT) on sale through fake bills in about 14 districts in the state, which include maximum number of fraud cases by the fake registered firms reported at Gurugram, Faridabad, Rohtak and Sonepat districts shown maximum sale through fake bills to other states including Punjab,  Uttarkhand, U.P and Delhi. Deputy Excise & Taxation Commissioners (DETC) of all districts has already sent detail of detected frauds to state government.

According to information, such fake registered firms projected sale worth thousands crores and collected input credit tax worth over Rs 1100 crores in past sometime and during verification by the officers department it was observed that these firms are not existing at their addresses. According to state excise & taxation department after detecting frauds, amount worth Rs 28.54 lakh was collected in Ambala district. Surinder Kumar DETC Ambala told that three fraud cases has been detected in the district and stern action is being taken against the owners of these firms involved in frauds and amount worth Rs 9 crore has yet to be collected from them. He disclosed, these firms had raised fake bills for amount worth Rs 5970 crore and availed input credit tax worth Rs 9 crore yet to be recovered after made recovery for amount Rs 4.32 lakh.

Information reveals, as many as maximum number of 12 fake firms were identified by excise & taxation department Faridabad and GST registration of large number of firms detected involved in fake practices purchased and sold goods on the basis of fake documents with effect from January till June 2020 in Haryana state has been cancelled. While fake firms availed input credit on fake sale worth over Rs 1100 crores include nine fake firms at Faridabad North, three fake firms at Faridabad South, Similarly, six fake firms collected huge amount worth crores of rupees availing input credit tax were detected each at Gurugram and Panipat, seven fake firms detected at Sonepat, four fake firms detected at Sirsa, two fake firms detected each at Hisar, Bhiwani Jagadhari, Kaithal. Jhajjar and one fake firm each at Fatehabad, Karnal, Palwal, Rewari and Jind have been detected and action will be taken against all after cancellation of their GST registration.
