Gunshots fired just few yards away from the Congress rally of MP Gurjit Aujla

Amritsar, May 18 – Five people fired gun shots just few yards away from the ongoing election rally being organized in favor congress candidate Gurjit Singh Aujla who was also present in the public gathering here today.

Police said that the incident has no connection with the election rally as the incident occurred away from the Election rally.

Police made it confirmed that one person was reportedly injured in the firing incident.

SHO police station Ajnala Balbir Singh said that victim has been identified as Lovely who in a statement to police said that he was going to attend the election rally of Congress when he was attacked as gun shots fired just one hundred yards away from the rally venue.

SHO said that five accused have already been identified by the police as three were the residents of Ajnala village and rest two were outsiders as all were known to the victim. Police said that it was an incident of personal enmity. Various Police teams have been dispatched to nab the accused who would be arrested shortly, said SHO.

However, congress activists attending the rally accused the Punjab Government led by AAP for the firing incident.
