The role of Chief Minister Flying Squad (CMFS) in Haryana during year 2022 against corruption and adulteration in the state was highly appreciated. According to Alok Mittal CID Chief in the state large number of officers, staff involved in corrupt practices in government offices as well as in private sectors indulged in illegal practice in the state were trapped by CM Flying Squad during the year and drive against corruption will continue during present year 2023 also. According to information, the teams CM Flying Squad conducted 1303 raids against corrupt practices in Haryana state during year 2022 in which 555 persons were arrested in 456 cases registered by the police. CMFS during previous year 2021had conducted 554 raids and arrested 340 persons in 242 cases registered by the police in which the total fine of value worth over Rs 13.89 crore was collected. These raids are conducted after receiving information about various irregularities committed by accused persons or a private organization, said an official spokesman.
According to available data during year 2022 the raids were mainly focused to check corruption, the irregularities in government offices as well as those manufacturing adulterated and spurious products including illicit liquor, busting of fake call centers, GST frauds, electricity theft, black marketing of LPG gas and oxygen cylinders, illegal mining, drug peddling, checking of overloaded vehicles, irregularities in government offices etc. According to information, during year 2022maximum numbers of raids were conducted by CMFS on food product shops, manufacturers of sweets and godowns in which 48 cases were registered against accused in 313 raids during the year in which 26 persons were arrested allegedly involved in adulteration and nearly 2000 kg sweets and other food products seized by CMFS teams were destroyed. The teams also raided as many as 55 commercial places involved in GST frauds of value worth over Rs 1 Crore 33 lakh.
Information reveals, CMFS during year 2022 collected fine worth Rs 1 crore 73 lakh from overloaded vehicles moving on roads in the state. Among other successful activities by CMFS during year 2022 as told by Alok Mittal a senior IPS officer holding the charge of CID in the state include busting as many as 45 gangs involved in adulteration in nearly 145 cases related to manufacturing illicit liquor, fake fertilizers, fake pesticides and fake seeds. CMFS also caught 41cases doing the year illegally running bore well, 55 cases of power theft and 50 cases of black marketing of LPG and oxygen cylinders.
Among prominent scams exposed by CMFS during year 2022 include rice scam reported at Jundla grain market in Karnal district allegedly embezzlements in arrival of crops in which superior quality of rice received from farmers were sold at higher rates after replaced with custom milledrice (CMR). CMFS detected another fraud in a rice mill at Asandh in which rice miller supplied spurious quality rice to HAFED instead of high quality stocks and a case was registered with police arrested one. According to information out of the total cases registered, 124 are under thorough investigation while the charge sheet in 118 FIRs has been submitted in the concerned courts. A spokesperson of CMFS further told that the teams had raided 107 places during year 2021to clampdown on the manufacturing of adulterated and spurious products and arrested 6 persons in this connection. These raids led to the recovery of fines and cost of goods to the tune of over Rs 3.64 crores. He said that the flying squad teams arrested 114 persons by conducting 98 surprise raids which led to the recovery of over Rs 3.98 crore from the accused in 2021.
