Haryana government to recover Rs 21 crore in 3 projects at Ambala

Investigation by Haryana state government reveals, frauds for amount worth Rs 21 crore in construction of three projects at Ambala which include embezzlements of value for amount worth Rs 13.20 crore in construction of building for mini secretariat at the place where Session courts were situated in past at Ambala City. Now decision has been taken to recover amount from those involved in corruption. The projects scheduled to be completed long ago are still hanging on fire causing lot of inconvenience to residents of area.

Three developmental projects approved by government of Haryana incurred fraud worth crores of rupees with the involvement of PWD (B&R) officers as well as contractors and suppliers of building material include construction of Mini Secretariat at the place where Session Courts were situated earlier at Ambala City to accommodate all government offices under a roof in which recoveries for amount worth Rs 13.20 crore has been detected including payment of 524 ton steel was released to the supplier on the basis of fake bills without receiving the material. This project was scheduled to be completed by February 25, 2021 when hardly 30% work was completed is still lying incomplete causing inconvenience to residents in the district.

Among other two projects lying incomplete since a long time in which state government have to recover amount worth crores of rupees include construction of building for Government Women College at Ambala City presently forced to run in a school building causing lot of inconvenience to students suffering due to shortage of space under the supervision of PWD (B&R) Ambala having recoveries for amount worth Rs  1 crore, 96 lakh and 31thousand. Similarly, due to frauds detected in the construction of building of Polytechnic Institute at Lakhnaura Saheb near Ambala City recovery for amount worth Rs 6 crore 39 lakh and 37 thousand have t been detected in this project due to negligence  as well as misuse of government funds by PWD (B&R) staff supervising construction of the building of this project already delayed in completion for 520 days.  The residents of area as well as leaders of all political parties in opposition demand immediate stern action against all those including PWD (B&R) department officers involved in frauds and recover amount of financial loss suffered by state government from them.
