Nearly 293,000 students sat for the Class 10 English board exam in the recent past, security teams remained on high alert. Yet, despite tight measures, 79 students were caught cheating statewide, leading to police intervention at several centres.

Chandigarh: General Secretary of All India Congress Committee, former Union Minister and Member of Parliament, Kumari Sailja said that none of the examinations in the state has been conducted with transparency, paper leakage has become a common thing in every examination and Haryana state has become a notorious paper leak factory in the country and even the MBBS exams have not been spared, in which the answer books in both the annual and supplementary examinations were rewritten. While talking to media persons, Kumari Sailja said that for a long time no exam has been completed in the state without any disruption. She said, paper leaks have become common in most of the examinations of the state due to cases of large-scale copying, increasing incidents of changing the answer sheets, going out of the answer sheets, copying by the examination invigilator are coming to the fore, rightly saying Haryana has come to be known as the paper leak factory. When there is no transparency in an exam, the most talented candidates are troubled by it.

Expressing concern, Kumari Sailja said that the MBBS exam scam has come to light in the state needing immediate step against by fixing the responsibilities to make the invigilators more accountable, steps could have been taken to monitor opening and distribution time of papers, collection of answer sheets and depositing time of university and those responsible for  such malpractice should be blacklisted and stern action taken against them, since it is not possible to rewrite the answer sheets in examinations without any conspiracy, and the government must take strict action against the counterfeiting mafia, involved in this practice through the employees. She said such employees should be identified and strict action should be taken against them.
