Haryana industry seeks government support to wipe out recession in 2020

Industry owners in Haryana state are looking forward to government support and relaxation in rules and regulations in the year 2020 to keep them alive and meet challenges due to heavy slump in business as well as economic slowdown faced by the industry in past couple of years usually blamed due to ‘Notbandi’ declared by the government, implementation of GST and hard rules and regulations for trade and industry, which adversely affected industry in the country playing important role not only to strengthen economic condition but also create source of employment.

According to industry entrepreneurs in the state, government support to trade and industry is need of hour requiring to prepare a land bank to encourage and inspire new entrepreneurs willing to set up industry in the state and provide them financial assistance at subsidized rate of interest. According to industry entrepreneurs, lack of cooperation by the banks, lack of transparency, lengthy process for setting up a new industrial unit, tough labour rules, lacking amenities, lengthy procedures by the government before setting up an industry, strict rules by pollution control department in which many times green industrial units are refused permission to run industry, dominating ‘Inspector Raaj’ and delay in reimbursement of GST are some of the challenges before industry owners and discouraging new comers in industry in the state.

While talking to few prominent industry entrepreneurs, they suggested solutions to help industrial growth, which include Union Government should function like a bridge between industry and banks, there should be an open discussion between industry owners and related government bureaucrats to discuss problems faced by the industry and solve them,  change in labour rules causing hindrance in industrial developments, special packages and incentives by state as well as central government to collapsing industry in the state, make pollution control rules easier, abolish ‘Inspector Raaj’ like in past years during previous government’s rule, offer all industrial services under a roof, regularization of areas for industry where nearly 70% industrial units exist in the area and Micro Small and Medium Enterprise  (MSME)industrial units should be evaluated on the basis of investment.

The Financial World had a talk with few office bearers of industry associations in the state. According to B.R. Bhatia President Faridabad Industries Association, there is immediate need to control economic slowdown faced by industry in the state by the ruling government still working on years old pattern. On the other hand J.N. Mangla President Industry Association Gurugram suggested allotment of industrial plots to entrepreneurs especially those youths willing to start industry at subsidized rates, since most of the youths willing to start own industry find difficulties to invest huge amount on purchase of land and construction of building. J.P. Malhotra President DLF Industries Association was of view that change in the structure of MSME will not be favourable for industry in the state, since according to rules framed in 2006, there are several beneficial schemes provided by the government for welfare of MSME units playing important role to generate employment opportunities and boom in industry.
