It has been observed that in-spite of good openings for jobs in the country many youths desiring to settle abroad have spoiled their future career. Undoubtedly, there is no shortage of jobs for hardworking youths in the country. Crime Investigation Agency of Kaithal police has recently succeeded in busting a international racket at Kolkata involved in cheating large number of youths in which Kaithal police not only arrested eight persons of a gang allegedly cheated them assuring to get them jobs on the basis of fake appointment letters, passports and visa documents in abroad but also rescued eight youths hailing from Nepal including two females.
Addressing media persons, Maqbool Ahmed Supertendent Police Kaithal told that With the arrest of eight persons police have busted a gang allegedly involved in luring youths with visas to go abroad and holding them captive to extort money from their family members.The police have arrested the kingpin of the gang in the area kidnapped a youth Vikram, a resident of Bakal village in Kaithal district who was promised Canadian visa. He said the gang members including kingpin Abdul Karim Rehman alias Desai and Gurdev Singh both hailing from UP, Shashank, Moin Kureshi, Sameer of Mumbai and Akhilesh of Mathura in Uttar Pradesh), havbe been arrested in the case so far.They were produced in the court on Tuesday and sent Gurdev and Akhilesh to judicial custody while the remaining four were taken on 10-day police remand. The accused used to run an organised gang that according to preliminary investigation had kidnapped nearly 35 youths through a network of agents operating in different states including Maharashtra, Kolkata, Gujarat, Kochi, Assam, Hyderabad, Haryana, Punjab and in Nepal who were released after snatching ransom from them and extorting money from their family members.
Maqbool Ahemad SP Kaithal told that Kaithal police rescued eight Nepalese nationals, including two women during raids conducted at four to five places and finally from a house at Diamond Palace from Kolkata and arrested of eight members of an inter-state gang allegedly involved in kidnapping youngsters for ransom on the pretext of sending them abroad. However, the prime accuse also a mastermind in the gang identified as Sunil Kejriwal originally hailing from Mumbai is yet absconding. SP Kaithal told that the accused were taken on police remand and during interrogation they disclosed that Sunil Kejriwal of Mumbai was involved in trapping the youths and kidnapped them with the help of other members. He used to keep them locked and torture in a dark room at his residence in Kolkata and extort money from their family. on the pretext.
The SP said that a 13-member police team conducted raids at different locations in Kolkata and rescued eight Nepalese nationals including two females from a house in Diamond Park locality. Those rescued by police have been identified as Sita Nepalese, Krishti, Subhash Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Suresh Budamagar, Prakash Budamagar, Shiri Gurung and Bar Kumar all residents of Nepal. SP said the eight arrested presently in police custody have been identified as Praveen Kumar, Mohammad Husain of Kolkata, Anil Kumar of Shamli of Uttar Pradesh, Ravi Kumar, Prince, Pankaj, Mohit Kumar and Sanjeev Kumar of Karnal district.
The SP said that the investigation reveals, Nepalese nationals were brought to Kolkata on the pretext of sending them abroad. Three of them were sent to Dubai and were kept hostage there for six months and later they were brought back to Kolkata as the accused were demanding more money from their family members.
He said that the family members of the rescued Nepalese nationals have been informed and they will be handed over to them. Abducted youths told that they were initially brought to Kolkata and stayed in a hotel for a day, then shifted to a house where they were being severely tortured, beaten, threaten to kill with sharp-edged weapons and arms till they confirmed to their families safe arrival at their destination on telephone and remit balance payments. However, the gang had sent few youths abroad and later they were sent back to India having their future in doll drum.
