Former Haryana chief minister and leader of opposition in Haryana Vidhan Sabha Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that he alongwith HPCC president Udai Bhan while touring across all 90 assembly segments in the state and to hold rallies till the end of this year to uproot the BJP-JJP government, so far has observed that people in the state looking for a change in the government, and it has been observed that Congress is an only viable alternative to the BJP-JJP alliance government, blaming the ruling government in the state failing on all fronts. Recently, addressing a rally in Hisar under ‘Vipaksh Aapke Samaksh’ programme, Hooda asserted that the Congress was the main opposition party in Haryana and now the public was considering them as the only alternative to government in the state. He said, Congress is self-sufficient to contest 2024 Vidhan Sabha polls independently and need no alliance with any political party.
While addressing a rally at Hisar, Hooda said that there is a shortage of teachers in schools, government hospitals are facing acute shortage of doctors, government offices are without staff and police stations do not have cops. to maintain law and order in the state. He added unemployment among youthsis rising, the government has no control over fast rising prices of every essential commodity as well as crimes in the state are increasing. Hooda said he has turned 76 and wants to fight a last battle to throw the BJP-JJP government out of power in the state and bring a ‘people’s friendly government’ in Haryana.
However, Hooda appreciated ruling government’s recent decision to introduce 33% reservation for females, however this proposal was started when Rajiv Gandhi was Prime Minister, but at the same time he desired that OBC females should also be benefited alongwith SC/ST desiring the scheme should be implemented since from the coming 2024 polls. He raised a question why the ruling BJP government took no decision on this important issue in past 9 years rule, perhaps the ruling government has now remembered women and took such an important decisionn since the next elections are approaching. Hooda said that the present alliance government in Haryana is facing severe opposition by the people in state during their ‘Jan-samvad Programmes’ being organised in the state, whereas at the same time Congress is getting full support by the people in the state during all rallies. He said that Congress is holding ‘Jan Millan Smaroh’ at JInd on October 8. Hooda strongly condemned delay in procurement of paddy crops in all grain markets as a result farmers are deprived of Hooda said, etting minimum support price on their crops.
Hooda said, the government employees are sitting on dharna. The Jannayak Janata Party had formed an alliance with the BJP to give a monthly pension of Rs 5,100 to the elderly, but they failed to do so. If we return to power, we promise the elderly people of providing a Rs 6,000 per month pension and we will also provide 2 lakh government job sto youths. He promised to provide gas cylinders below Rs 500 and 100-yard plots to the SC and backward classes families. Creamy layer of the backward class will be increased from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. ‘Vishwakarma Karigar Yojana’ will be implemented for BCA category artisans ensuring that artisans will get loans at less than 5% interest. Hooda assured farmers to get a minimum support price for their crops and 300 units of free electricity will be given to the poor families every month after forming the government, HPCC president Udai Bhan said that the BJP-JJP alliance will be reduced to single digit in the coming elections since recently CAG has exposed 7 scams of BJP.
