Health Department Haryana worries as 2500 dengue cases detected in state

Panchkula tops with over 1000 cases followed by 257 cases in Hisar and 157 cases in Karnal

Haryana State Health Department is worried over fast increasing cases of dengue fever in the state, which have detected more than 2500 cases so far. Information reveals that there are a large number of patients being treated at the private hospitals also. Among patients attending OPD in the government hospitals include a maximum number of children and boys and girls of age up to 15. Information also reveals that Panchkula in the state is leading in number of dengue patients identified as 2500, followed by 257 cases reported in Hisar, 157 cases in Karnal, 163 cases in Rewari, 120 cases in Sonepat, 75 cases in Kurukshetra, 116 cases in panipat, 57 cases in Yamunanagar and 58 cases in Rohtak, 49 cases in Jhajjar and 39 cases in Sirsa districts so far till 16th October. Information also reveals that more and more cases of suspected patients are being reported in the government hospitals apart from the private hospital, since there are long queues of patients at the OPD in government hospitals.

The residents in the state blame the health department for failing to take necessary steps in advance and lack of fogging in affected areas due to assembly polls going on all over in the state and no steps for the rescue were taken. With dengue cases showing no signs of dipping, the fresh cases of patients suffering from dengue fever are being received in most of the towns in the state. Information from Hisar reveals that 4700 persons were served notices  where the health department during a search operation found ‘Larvae’ in water storage tanks in rural and urban areas in Hisar district alone.  Health department in several affected towns in the state has started a checking campaign to find out hotspots in all affected towns. According to information, more than 100 fresh cases of dengue patients have been received in government hospitals in the state, whereas the number of patients suffering from Dengue visiting private hospitals is much more, as such the demand of platelets in the hospitals have increased. Blood samples of suspected cases are being taken in all government hospitals for analysis of dengue.
