Meanwhile, the bookings for the SHINE 100 would begin from today with the product delivery scheduled from next month, he said.

Replying to questions, Mathur said the motorcycle has been priced low amidst competition because the customer is price-conscious and the company is readying for expanding its volumes in view of the 5% industry growth that has occurred for this specific 100 cc segment.

“SHINE 125 is the highest-selling motorcycle for Honda and in keeping with the same legacy, we continued by adding the SHINE 100 which we are highlighting through our 6,000 Indian touch points catering to our customers,” he said, adding that Honda products market share is 65% in the rural market and 3.1% pan-India.

Highlighting details of the newly-launched motorcycle, he said the SHINE 100 has a Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) that uses onboard sensors for constantly injecting optimum fuel and air mixture for consistent power output, high fuel efficiency and less emissions.

The piston-cooling jet reduces friction and maintains optimum engine temperature, while the offset cylinder and use of rocket roller arm further reduce the frictional loss, thus helping in smooth and better output alongside improved fuel efficiency.
