*Give legal guarantee of MSP & assured to build IMT in Ambala to boost industry
Ambala: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupendra Singh Hooda on Monday said the Congress would open the Shambhu border for farmers after it forms the government in the state. He stated that the Congress would start an IMT at Ambala to boost industrial and employment growth in the region.
Addressing an election rally on Monday, Hooda said BJP has no faith in democracy. “This dictatorial government first imposed three anti-farmer laws and then used lathes and fired bullets on farmers, when they opposed these laws. Roads were dug to stop the farmers and even now the Haryana government has stopped the farmers at Shambhu border. Due to this, traders are also suffering huge losses. He said when the Congress government is formed, Shambhu border will be opened and farmers will be given legal guarantees of MSP. At the same time, Rahul Gandhi is fighting for the demand of implementing the Swaminathan Commission report for the farmers at the Center,” he added.
During this, Congress state president Chaudhary Udaibhan, Ambala MP Varun Mullana, Congress candidate from Ambala city Nirmal Singh, candidate from Mullana Pooja Chaudhary, candidate from Yamunanagar Raman Tyagi and former Punjab minister Bijendra Singla also addressed the public meeting and appealed to the people for votes. Hooda said Ambala had neither a sewer system, nor a stadium nor walkable roads before the formation of the Congress government. “The Congress government established all the facilities in Ambala. Now our goal is to establish IMT here to take Ambala forward from an industrial point of view. With the establishment of IMT, new employment opportunities will develop in Ambala. Along with this, the seven guarantees given by the Congress till now will be fulfilled. BJP is raising the question that where will the budget come from. First of all, the BJP should tell where will they bring the budget from, because BJP has copied the manifesto of Congress,” he questioned, saying Congress promises that when it forms the government, it will give women an honorarium of Rs 2000. Along with this, Rs 6,000 old age pension, gas cylinder for Rs 500, 2 lakh permanent recruitment on merit and OBC’s creamy layer will be increased to Rs 10 lakh.
On this occasion, Congress State President Ch. Udaibhan said we have to take answers from the BJP people as to why they stopped the farmers at the border for 13 months. “Who is responsible for the martyrdom of 750 farmers? Farmers were stopped at Shambhu border and attacked with drones and rubber bullets. Whose accountability has been fixed for the death of young farmer Shubhkaran? Why were the wrestler daughters, who brought glory to the country, dragged on the road,” he questioned and said till date the wrestler daughters have not got justice. “Now the time has come to take revenge for the injustice done to farmers, soldiers, wrestlers and our daughters. Today the time has come to take answers from the BJP as to why the state became number one in unemployment and crime,” Udaibhan stated. “Today, gangs demanding ransom from jails and abroad are operating in the state, but the government has no control over them. There is a need to take an answer from the BJP as to why more than 30 papers were leaked in the state? Jobs were being bid in the Staff Selection Board. HPSC officials were caught taking bribes,” he noted, and added that Kaushal Rojgar Nigam is a sham, in which recruitments were done by exploiting the youth without merit, reservation and half salary.
Raising questions on the portals, both Bhupinder Singhy Hooda and Udaibhan said “Due to the family identity card, ration cards of nine and a half lakh poor families and pension of 4.75 lakh elderly people were cut. Farmers were entangled in portals, which never work. Tell the BJP to seek votes from the portal,” they stated “The BJP server has gone down and their portal is not working. You should not make any mistake this time and work to make all the candidates win by giving every vote to the Congress party.
Ambala MP Varun Chaudhary while addressing said ” The BJP spent 10 years in ‘Jumlabaazi’. “Instead of working, BJP closed the Dadupur-Nalvi canal. They built walls on the roads in the way of the farmers. Now the public has made up its mind to get rid of them and on October 5, every vote will write the history of BJP’s departure.” Congress candidate from Ambala city Chaudhary Nirmal Singh said that we have seen the tenure of Congress government led by Bhupinder Singh Hooda for 10 years. “He waived off the electricity bills of farmers worth Rs 1600 crore with a stroke of the pen. Loans worth Rs 2300 crore were waived off,” he said, talking about the welfare measures taken during the Congress government. Nirmal Singh said, Haryana became the number one state in the country under the rule of Congress. It was Congress that implemented schemes like Green Revolution, NREGA, RTI, Right to Education, Right to Food, Mid Day Meal and nationalization of banks in the country.
Soon after Hooda’s rally, the former Home Minister contesting present polls from Ambala Cantt while talking to media persons said, Congress has resorted to hooliganism in disguise, always using a double-edged sword. Anil Vij, in response to the allegations of manifesto theft made by Congress said, “We ruled for 10 years, and many Congress leaders used to visit our offices, our government’s offices and perhaps someone overheard. We didn’t copy anything; Congress has stolen our manifesto.” Vij was answering questions asked by the media persons and said that they (Congress) have resorted to hooliganism in disguise.
Regarding the recent incident where farmers in Garnala village near Ambala stopped and protested against him (Vij), he said, “We had a program in Garnala yesterday, for which we had taken due approval from the Election Commission. The Congress workers, a Congress Sarpanch, and people from two nearby villages were present. I personally know each one of them, and all their videos have been made, and they have been identified. They have resorted to hooliganism in disguise because Congress has accepted its defeat. Congress has a long history with hooliganism. This city has previously witnessed their hooliganism when they encroached on people’s properties. They are completely lost, and when people are scared, they behave like this.”
On being asked about Chitra Sarwara’s expulsion from Congress, Vij said, “This is all a ruse because Deepender Singh Hooda came to Ambala City to reconcile but didn’t come to Ambala Cantonment. He questioned, ‘Is there a border set up in Ambala Cantonment?’ You can analyze this for yourself. Responding to a question regarding Congress’s statement on distributing jobs, he said, “This is Congress’s culture. People have seen this before—they set up markets for jobs and transfers. I’ve seen a statement from a Congress leader where they say that you can’t run a government without scams and wrong doings. Now, it’s up to the people to decide whether they want those who engage in scams or those who want to take the country forward.”
Attacking Congress, Vij said in 1984, when the massacre of Sikhs happened across the country, Rahul Gandhi’s father justified it. He had said that when a big tree falls, the earth shakes. Rahul Gandhi is his father’s son, so he will repeat the same things his father did. Regarding Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s statement about forming the government, he said, “It’s the same party, the same leader, who is a servant of the Gandhi family. In one state, they say one thing, and in another, they say something else. They say that in Himachal, where Congress is in power, they will grow drugs and sell them. But before elections, they say they’ll make the state drug-free. Congress is using a double-edged sword.” In response to another question, Vij said, he is receiving full support and cooperation from the public. Congress is losing all the seats in Ambala because their (leaders) don’t even want to come here, that’s why they took a report and canceled the program. Congress is not a party; it is a group of various factions fighting against each other all over Haryana.
