Whereas Congress fighting civic polls on local issues
Congress will take all issues related to lack of developments to the public during the present municipal elections in the state, will highlight the poor condition of roads, sewerage, and cleanliness and the collapse of law and order among the public in most of the districts across the state, Congress leader and former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda slams ruling BJP government in the state while addressing public meetings. He said that the BJP did not do a single development in most of the prominent districts including Hisar during its 10-year tenure, where he was addressing a large gathering. He said the Congress would take up the collapse of civic services and law & order in the state as primary issues to the public during the mayoral elections. Along with this, the party will also highlight the poor condition of roads, sewerage, and cleanliness and the collapse of law and order among the public, Hooda stated.
While addressing a press conference at Hisar, Hooda said, BJP neither built any university here, nor any thermal plant, nor any big industry or project was established, whereas during the Congress tenure, many development works were done here. “Not only this, the already approved Hisar International Airport was also shifted out of here and the BJP government of the state remained a silent spectator,” he said while addressing a press conference in Hisar and appealed for votes for the Congress candidates in the civic elections. He said it has been more than 100 days since the BJP has come to power for the third time, but till now it has not fulfilled its election promises. “The promise of giving ₹2100 to women has also proved to be a hoax. Now what will the BJP say to seek votes in the civic elections? BJP deliberately delayed even the civic and panchayat elections because it does not believe in democracy,” he stated.
Hooda said that during the Congress tenure, Haryana was the number one state in the country in terms of per capita income, per capita investment and employment, but today Haryana has become number one in unemployment where the youths were compelled to leave the country in search of jobs and build their future. “During the entire tenure of BJP, neither any new railway line was laid, nor the metro was taken forward even by 1 inch, nor any big university, thermal plant, industry or project was established in the state. 90% of the highways built during this government were approved during the Congress tenure,” Hooda added.
