Hooda targeted ruling BJP government over neglecting the education budget

Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda has targeted the BJP government for neglecting and spending less budget on education sector in the state. He said that the state ruling government spends only two percent of the GDP on education while the new education policy recommends spending six percent. Hooda said that the BJP has severely neglected and ruined the education system as a result the dropout rate is constantly increasing. Hooda said that the BJP government in Haryana is spending less budget on the education sector compared to the neighboring states. About two years ago, the Haryana government had proposed to give loans to the state’s public universities instead of grants-in-aid. He said due to BJP’s indifferent attitude towards education as well as the dropout rate in higher education is constantly increasing a large number of seats in the courses of colleges and universities remain vacant. He said that BJP has ruined the entire education system of the state including from primary to higher education.

Former Chief Minister said from schools to colleges and universities, more than 50 percent posts for teachers are vacant everywhere. “On one hand, the BJP government in the state is raising noise about implementing the new education policy, while on the other hand the current education policy and intentions of the government are being exposed through RTI. According to information received from RTI, more than half of the teacher posts in 281 government and aided colleges in the state are lying vacant. There are 39 aided colleges in the state where there is no principal. The government should clarify what kind of education is being imparted to the students in the educational institutes in the state without teachers.

During a recent road show campaign and public meeting held in Panipat, Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini held a public meeting, fiercely targeting the Congress. He said that after the assembly elections, the Congress has gone into a coma, while after the Delhi elections, the Aam Aadmi Party is on the bed. A triple engine BJP government is sure to be formed in the state, and Congress has to be brought out to zero in the coming civic elections. Taking a dig at the results of the Delhi assembly elections, targeting Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party. Saini said that in this election too, the Congress has to be brought out on zero. He said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had talked about setting up a jalebi factory during the assembly elections. After the election results, BJP is distributing jalebi not only in Haryana but also in Delhi where the Aam Aadmi Party has been wiped out. “Now after the municipal elections, the situation of the opposition will worsen further, Saini said”.
