HSNCB seized over 4 kg opium and 3kg 800 gm poppy husk

Kurukshetra: After the incident of 4 kg opium smuggled from Madhya Pradesh for supply in Punjab, seized by the Ambala police on a secret information on the National highway No. 1 Ambala Cantt, now after about 24 hours Haryana State Narcotic Control Bureau ( HSNCB ) team on a secret information has recovered 4 kg 50 gm opium and 800 kg poppy husk being smuggled from Madhya Pradesh in a canter which was stopped by the police at a police barrier on the National highway near village Buhawa near Shahabad in Kurukshetra district.

According to HSNCB information, the driver of canter Baljit Singh resident of village Mueadpur in Patiala district managed to flee in the dark, whereas police arrested another persons sitting in the vehicle Gurjinder Singh a resident of village Faridpur in Patiala district told that they had smuggled drugs from Madhya Pradesh for supply in Patiala as usual.  According to information, during a search by the police over 4 kg of opium was recovered under the driver’s seat. A case under NDPS Act was registered at Babain police station and search for the arrest of the canter driver started.
