Special Task Force Haryana busted a gang of three allegedly stolen large numbers of luxury cars from Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, U.P and Rajasthan and recovered 14 stolen vehicles including six ‘Fortune’, four ‘Inova’, three ‘Scorpio’ and a Breza cars. Police recovered total number of 31 cars from the gang so far. S. Balan STP DIG told that Inspector Satish Kumar along with ASI Ashok Kumar arrested a member of gang Praveen with a stolen car at Charkhi Dadri on June 2, 2020 and during preliminary investigation he named two others companions Amit resident of Meham and Ravesh resident of village Sisarkhan involved in car thefts and sale with changed registration numbers.
STF DIG told that investigation revealed that gang members used to change engine and chasis number of stolen cars within hours after lifting the vehicles and get stolen vehicle registered through three staff members working in SDM office at Meham in Rohtak district with the registration number of vehicles lying dumped since past 15 to 20 years on-line on their laptop during night hours on the basis of fake documents prepared by a typist Ramesh resident of village Saiman sitting outside SDM office. Three SDM office employees arrested by police used to charge Rs 25000 for registration of vehicle. All arrested were produced in the court and remanded to police custody for four days. Chandigarh poice will bring all accused working in SDM office on production warrants to produce in court.
Information also reveals that most of the old record of registration of vehicles at Meham SDM office was destroyed in fire by protesting agitators during ‘Jaat’ agitation in Haryana state in 2016, which proved boon for the employees in SDM office earned huge money by registering vehicles on the basis of fake documents
