Gurugram: Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala while talking to media persons said that he expects huge development of proposed ‘Global City’ project in Gurugram and has directed concerned officials to ensure it meets international standards. The project will feature residential, commercial and industrial zones along with enough space for the healthcare and educational sectors. He said, the city will also have a university sewage and waste management system and a heliport and this 1,000-acre project will be developed in phases, also a university.The deputy chief minister held a review meeting to oversee the project at Chandigarh with the officers.
Chautala directed officials to expedite the construction of the ‘Global City’ and ensure that quality is maintained in all aspects so that top companies from India and abroad invest in the project, generating employment as well as revenue. Additional chief secretary industries and commerce department Anand Mohan Sharan and other senior officials were also present in the meeting. Chautala said that the Haryana government plans to develop the project with a focus on quality city-centric living and will be developed as a hub for the service industry where spaces will be available for the residential and commercial units having a focus on setting up healthcare and educational institutions. While reviewing the map prepared for the project, Chautala gave suggestions on various aspects so that it can attract more investments, directing officials to expedite the construction, he said quality in the construction work will not be compromised under any circumstances. The deputy chief minister also directed officials to ensure that norms set for utility tunnels, roads, sewage, firefighting systems etc. are met in advance so that work can commence smoothly, a statement issued by the state government said.
