Issue of coming to Sri Harmandar Sahib while wearing T-shirt of Jagdish Tytler, SGPC condemns

Amritsar, August 17 – The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Harjinder Singh Dhami has strongly condemned the act of a Congress party worker Karamjit Singh, who visited Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib (Golden Temple) wearing t-shirt with photo of Congress leader Jagdish Tytler, for getting his photograph clicked inside the premises and making it viral on social media. He said that a police complaint will be lodged against Karamjit Singh who committed this act.

Dhami said that Jagdish Tytler is main accused in 1984 Delhi Sikh Genocide, who can never be forgiven by the Sikh Qaum (community).

“Visiting Sri Harmandar Sahib while wearing a t-shirt with a photo of such a person (Tytler) is an act of annoying the Sikhs”, said Dhami.

He said this act has been committed by Amritsar based Karamjit Singh, a representative of Congress party, from which it is clear that he has committed this act as part of deliberate conspiracy.

SGPC President said that the Congress class has always remained anti-Sikh and the attacked committed by this party on Sri Harmandar Sahib in 1984 and Delhi Sikh Genocide, can never be forgotten. Today, Congress leader has once against hurt the Sikh sentiments by publicising the photo of Sikh Genocide accused Jagdish Tytler at Sri Harmandar Sahib.

He said that Sri Harmandar Sahib is the central shrine of Sikhs and is also a centre of devotion for the people of the whole world. He said everyone pays obeisance here to get mental peace and spiritual strength. The act of hurting Sikh sentiments at this holy place cannot be tolerated, regarding which the SGPC will take action.

Meanwhile, SGPC assistant secretary media Kulwinder Singh Ramdas said that on the instructions of SGPC President Dhami, a police complaint has been lodged by manager of Sri Darbar Sahib to DCP, Law and Order of Amritsar Police, against this person who committed act of annoying Sikhs at Sri Harmandar Sahib.

“As per CCTV camera footage, the accused person entered parkarma (circumambulation) via Atta Mandi side entrance and returned without paying obeisance after getting his objectionable photograph clicked with Sri Harmandar Sahib at the background. It is clear from his activity that this person had deliberately come to commit this mischief and not to pay obeisance at the Guru’s house”, said Kulwinder Singh Ramdas.
