Jailed Member Parliament Amritpal Singh’s father to float political party in Punjab

Amritsar, January 2 –  Jailed radical preacher and Member Parliament from Khadoor Sahib Amritpal Singh’s father Tarsem Singh today  said he is going to float a political party in Punjab for the wellbeing  of all on the eve of Maghi on January 14.

Talking to FW on phone, Tarsem Singh confirmed about the launching and the formation of a new political outfit from the Muktsar district of Punjab on the religious occasion of Maghi.

He said that currently Amritpal Singh is behind the bars, so in such circumstances in the absence of his son, he himself will lead the party but when Amritpal comes out from prison would look after the party.

He said that on eve of religious occasion in the presence of big gathering of Sikh Sangat  from Muktsar Sahib, political outfit would be launched and on the same day the party constitution, committee would be made and the name of the party to be shared publicly.

Amritpal Singh, the MP from the Khadoor Sahib parliamentary constituency in Punjab, is currently lodged in Assam’s Dibrugarh Jail under the National Security Act.

Amritpal Singh, who heads the “Waris Punjab De” outfit was jailed along with nine of his associates under the NSA. He was arrested in Moga’s Rode village after he and his supporters barged into the Ajnala police station on February 23 last year, breaking barricades and brandishing swords and guns, and clashed with police personnel in an attempt to free one of his aides from custody.
