New Delhi : The President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind extended his condolences to the people of Iran on the tragic demise of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran – Dr Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, and accompanying officials in the tragic helicopter accident in Varzaqan.

In a statement to the media, the JIH President offered glorious tributes to the late Iranian President saying, “Dr Raisi’s passing away marks a profound loss not only for all Iranians but also for the entire Muslim Ummah. We stand with the people of Iran in their moment of grief. Dr Ibrahim Raisi was a resolute leader and a statesman who made many tough decisions to uphold the interests of the people in everyday governance and statecraft. His Presidency was marked by admirable resistance to Western powers who desire to arm-twist other countries into submission for economic exploitation. He will also be remembered for his resolute support to the Palestinian cause and their resistance against the Zionist settler colonialism and atrocities in Palestine.”

Praising the role played by the former President of Iran, Syed Sadatullah averred, “Dr Raisi made a stellar contribution to strengthening the India-Iran bilateral relationship. He played a leading role in sealing the 10-year agreement with India to develop and operate the Chabahar port. The deal has taken the infrastructure and trade partnership with the Islamic Republic to the next level and will prove to be a boon to the people of both countries as well as the entire region. He will be sincerely missed by all friends of Iran in India.”

The JIH President offered prayers for mercy and forgiveness for Dr Raisi and his family.
