Kaithal, Jind & Faridabad s in Haryana declared ‘Red Zone’ due to increasing HIV (AIDS) disease

State Health department Haryana expressed concern over fast increasing cases of  HIV (AIDS) disease in Kaithal district also has been declared as red zone like Faridabad and Jind districts in the state. The information also reveals that the number of patients suffering from this infectious disease have reached to 2800 patients in the district with the arrival of  373 new patients during this year as compared to 253 cases received during previous year 2022. The number of HIV (AIDS) suffering patients in Jind district has been identified as 3100 at present highest in 23 districts in the state.
According to  health department in Haryana, there are as many as 13 ART icentres in Haryana state at presenr providing treatment to patients suffering from HIV (AIDS) free of cost. Information reveals, most of the patients suffering from this dreaded disease have been found between age 20 to 40 years, besides as many as 25 children also detected suffering from this disease in the state. Health department data also reveals that more than 40 patients suffering from HIV (AIDS) have been reported died due to this disease in past four years because of extremely weak immune system in their body.
Dr Sachin, PMO ART centre at Kaithal told that HIV (AIDS) is highly infectious disease generally caused  due to infection while having sex relationship with a person of opposite sex already  suffering from this disease. The other reason for having this disase seen due use of a common syringe by several persons while injecting drugs in the body by injection, usually seen among youths addicted to drugs generally in hostels as well as PG houses. Dr Sachin told that while treating such drug addicted patients we do not stop providing drugs completely but reduce the quantity of drug among victims suffering from HIV (AIDS) but slowly reduce the quantity intake of drug in victim’s body who gradually stops taking drugs. He said, awareness for ill effects of drugs among youths is need of hours in the state at present.
