Kartikeya to adopt Ambala, promises to develop IMT as desired by residents

Talking to media persons here, newly elected Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Kartikeya Sharma said, he has decided to legally adopt Ambala on a priority basis admitting that he has reached Rajya Sabha with the help of many MLAs. He assured to work whole-heartedly for youth’s welfare as well as for education sector and fight for all issues of people related to Haryana, be it SYL canal water or any other issue related to Haryana state. Kartikeya said, the dreams of people in Ambala district for setting up Institute of Management and Technology are much awaited since a long time and people of the area have been aspiring to this dream for the last over a decade. Kartikeya said, he respects the sentiments of the people and have full faith that the ruling BJP government will get IMT installed in Ambala and in the Rajya Sabha also he will raise the demand for establishing IMT at an early.

While answering media question of joining BJP, Kartikeya said that he has reached Rajya Sabha as an independent candidate and in such a situation he can only remain independent as per the legal provisions. At the same time, he said that as BJP has supported him, he will also support BJP. He said that he is influenced by the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has come into politics only after being influenced by his policies. Kartikeya Sharma said, as regard employment opportunities for youths, there is more scope for jobs in private sector than in government. He said that for the last 5 years, he has been working to provide employment to the youths and is confident that he will work with the central government to provide more employment opportunities to youths. He said, many companies have come into the education sector and are making a lot of money out of this business. Kartikeya said, government is working to provide free education to the people with a target to provide free education to one lakh children. He said, it is our endeavour that we can provide free education to 50 thousand children hailing from Haryana. There was a huge ‘Road Show’ organised by the people of Ambala, followed by Kartikeya had blessings from his mother at their Model Town residence. Kartikeya’s father Vinod Sharma is well known in the area due to his services to the people of Ambala City Vidhan Sabha constituency for a decade as MLA as well as Union Minister and his mother is serving the people as Mayor of Ambala City Municipal Corporation at present.

While talking to media persons here, Vinod Sharma said that Karthikeya filed the nomination of Rajya Sabha as an independent candidate and other independent candidates as well as BJP, JJP, INLD voted in favour of him. Congress had 31 MLAs, but some people listened to their conscience and did not vote for Congress. Sharma clearly said that one of the 31 MLAs voted for Kartikeya Sharma and one vote was cancelled, which raised doubts. At the same time, Sharma said that Congress’s one vote was cancelled, whether it was done by mistake or intentionally, he does not want to comment on it. Sharma said that the way Congress has expressed no confidence in its MLAs. They were laid siege and placed under house arrest. While laying siege to them, police imposed security. No one was allowed to meet his family. Is this a democracy? Sharma raised question that either the Congress did not have faith in their MLAs or the MLAs did not believe in the policies of the Congress and in both cases, it is fatal for Congress. He added, it has become clear that Congress does not have a mass base in Haryana. This is the reason that everyone has given their vote to defeat Congress and make Kartikeya winner as such Congress has a big defeat in the Rajya Sabha elections.

Sharma said that if Congress plays with the sentiments of the people, then similar results will come out. Sharma once again thanked BJP, JJP, INLD and other candidates for Kartikeya’s victory and said that a new chapter should be started for the youths. He added, IMT set up at Ambala will bring employment opportunities for large number of unemployed youths as well as development of new industry in the area will bring prosperity in the state.
