Selja Criticizes Government for the Deterioration of Haryana’s Cities
Chandigarh : All India Congress Committee’s General Secretary, former Union Minister, MP from Sirsa Lok Sabha constituency, Kumari Selja criticized the government for the deteriorating condition of cities in Haryana, said that the announcement was made to make cities like Smart City and Paris, but today cities have reached a state of hell. The state government is sitting idle while there are three ministers at the center from the state, yet Haryana is weeping over its plight. She showed a mirror to the BJP government of the state both inside and outside the Lok Sabha.
In a statement released to the media, Kumari Selja said that the state government has a great fondness for renaming things, but the situation remains the same. Now the name is Smart City; look at Faridabad, piles of garbage are seen everywhere. The local MP is a minister at the center, but he does not see the plight of his own city. The same is the case with Ambala; what kind of Smart City is this? Look at the plight of Gurugram, which was called the Millennium City; the minister from there has already lamented the poor condition of Gurugram in an interview. The public is frustrated and troubled over the lack of facilities. She said the former Chief Minister of the state is now a minister at the center; he sees everything but remains silent. They have forgotten Swachh Bharat; Gandhi’s spectacles, which were hung on walls everywhere under Swachh Bharat, have disappeared; perhaps they have also been thrown into the garbage. She said that in 2016, the Railway Ministry made announcements regarding Gurugram and Faridabad; what happened to them? What happened to the Ballabgarh metro? In 2021, the international airport was supposed to start in Hisar; what happened to it? In the village of Gorakhpur in Fatehabad district, the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh laid the foundation stone for a nuclear plant; what happened to it? What is the status? When will the power production start ? The government has no answers.
Kumari Selja said that in the Lok Sabha elections, the youth, women, farmers, and Agniveer have already shown a mirror to the BJP. If the government has any concern for the people, it should implement MSP guarantees, provide employment to the youth, abolish the Agniveer recruitment, and ensure women’s safety; otherwise, the public will give a worse verdict in the assembly elections than in the Lok Sabha.
