Kurukshetra in Haryana to have first Bmx cycling track in India

Haryana state is going to be blessed with another  gift in the field of sports with the approval of project for construction of Bmx cycling track at religious town Kurukshetra and the work is likely to start shortly. Sports Minister Sandeep Singh said it will be the first Bmx cycling track in the country for which four acre area at village Lohar Majra on Pehowa Road has already been arranged and amount worth Rs 2.5 to 3 crore will be spent on this project by the government. Information reveals, presently there are six Bmx cycling tracks in the world at Thailand, Mylesia, China,  Japan and Korea.

Chairman of Indian Cycling Association Onkar Singh told that proposed cycling track to be constructed at Kurukshetra will prepare country’s cyclists to participate in Olympics and bag medals for the country. He said, more than 10 players from Kurukshetra have won medals by participating in  international cycling competitions in past years which include four National level cycling, 30 state level track cycling, 16 state level road cycling and 16 Mountain Bike Competitions brought name and fame for the country.

According to Neerak Tanwar State General Secretary State Cycling Association, about two months ago appeal was made to State Sports Minister Sandeep Singh  for construction of Bmx cycling track at Kurukshetra  who succeeded to get approval from the government for this project within a couple of months.
