Amritsar, August 3 – Lady SHO Amanjot Kaur posted in the Police station Verka was admitted in the hospital with grievous injuries after she was attacked by some inebriated youth during midnight.
Confirming the incident here today, Police said that during midnight SHO Amanjot was informed that two groups at village Mudhal were fighting and created the law and order problem in the area. She immediately rushed to the spot in her private car in a civil dress.
A group of people who were creating the scene on the spot while seeing the lady attacked her with wooden sticks on her head and neck resulting in injuring her seriously. The gunman who was accompanying her took the SHO to hospital with profuse bleeding where her treatment was in progress.
Police said one of the accused has been arrested and identified as Sukhjit Singh presently serving in the Indian Army. Rest of the accused involved in the crime who attacked on Lady SHO to be arrested very shortly as various police teams conducted raids to nab them.
