Amritsar, February 27– Congress leader and former chairman of Market Committee Patti, Major Singh Dhaliwal was shot dead by a lady from a point blank range.
Victim Major Singh Dhaliwal who was running his own marriage Palace in the village Sangwa in the bordering town Patti where he was busy in some management work when the accused fired a number of gun shots and two shots hit the Singh and he succumbed to bullet injuries.
Confirming the murder of Dhaliwal, SSP Tarn Taran, Mr. Gurmeet Chauhan said, “Accused has been identified. There was a single accused who is lady from the relations of victim Dhaliwal. The name of the lady to be revealed in a short while who has fired at the victim and to be arrested shortly as police teams were dispatched to nab her. She killed the victim due to some personal reasons”.
Singh was chairman of the Market Committee during the Congress regime in the Punjab.
