Last glimpses of former Haryana Chief Minister Om Parkash Chautala

Huge crowd gathered to have the last glimpse of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) president and 5 times former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala Om Prakash Chautala. The body was wrapped in the tricolor and a green turban and glasses were worn. His last rites were performed at Teja Kheda on December 21. Abhay Chautala was very close to his father and the grief of his father’s death was clearly visible in his eyes. He was unable to stop the tears from his eyes. The sorrow of his father’s death was clearly visible on Ajay  Chautala’s as well as the entire family members’ faces.

Among those leaders visited to pay last last respects to former Haryana Chief Minister Chaudhary Om Prakash Chautala on Friday were the former Punjab Dy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal who was very close to his family. Thousands of people arrived to see their leader with moist eyes on Friday and Saturday. There was a long queue of people to have the last glimpse of their beloved leader whose body was wrapped in the tricolor and a green turban. Crowds of people are gathering to pay tribute to the popular farmer leader. Leaders of opposition parties were also reaching to pay tribute to him.  Everyone was bidding farewell to their leader with folded hands and moist eyes.

Among visitors to pay tribute to Om Parkash Chautala were Minister Arvind Sharma, Congress MP from Sirsa Kumari Selja, Randeep Surjewala, former Rajya Sabha MP DP Vats, BJP leader from Rajasthan Rajendra Rathore, Congress leader from Dabwali KV Singh, former Finance Minister of Punjab, BJP leader Manpreet Badal, Independent Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma paid tribute to OP Chautala. A police contingent reached to give guard of honor at the funeral of OP Chautala.

Congress MP Randeep Singh Surjewala said, ‘Choudhary Om Prakash Chautala was a warrior of Haryana politics. He always raised the issues of farmers and their fight from different political platforms. His demise has caused an irreparable loss to the politics of the state. All our Congress colleagues have come here to pay tribute to him in his last journey.’ Kumari Selja expressed grief over the death of Om Prakash Chautala. She said, ‘With the passing away of former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala Ji an era has gone with him. He was very disciplined and remained active till the end. He remained connected with the lives of common people, understanding their pain and suffering. He preferred to stay among the people till the end. With his passing away, an era has ended and Haryana has lost a son.’

INLD supremo and former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala passed away on Friday. This left INLD workers disappointed. Three days of state mourning has been declared in the state but the national flag hoisted at Atal Park in Julana was not lowered. On receiving the information, INLD workers reached the spot and expressed their anger against the administration. INLD workers  Krishna Lathar and Dalbir Sindhu said that when three days of state mourning had been declared in the entire state, the national flag was not lowered at Atal Park in Julana, which was a big negligence of the administration. However, there were differences between the Chautala family members for some time and everyone was wishing the family to unite now.
