The preliminary life of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi whose real name is Satwinder Singh, one of the leading gangsters at present was born on 12th February 1993 in Fazilka son of a police constable. He was very active and sporty since childhood and used to wrestle, but his father dreamed that his son should become an IAS officer. After completing his 12th from Abohar, Lawrence went to Chandigarh and took admission in DAV College, when gradually he started taking an interest in student politics and during his time at college had friendship with Goldie Brar, working for the Lawrence Bishnoi gang while sitting abroad. In 2011, Lawrence formed an organization to contest elections: ‘Student Organization of Punjab University’ i.e. SOPU. He contested the elections under this banner, but lost. After the defeat, Lawrence started feeling humiliated and decided to take revenge over this. The same year he bought a revolver and clashed with the gang at whose hands he had lost the election.

There was an argument and scuffle between the two gangs. Meanwhile, Lawrence opened fire. Then the Punjab Police registered a case of attempted murder against him. This was the first case against Lawrence. After his arrest, he started getting involved in illegal activities and joined the gang of gangsters Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and Rocky Fazilka. Bhagwanpuria was a resident of Gurdaspur who not only taught Lawrence the tricks of the trade but also gave him a free hand in his work. As per reports, while studying in college Lawrence Bishnoi had a friendship with a girl, which later turned into love affairs. Information reveals that Lawrence Bishnoi’s girlfriend was killed in a gang war after losing the election after which he entered the world of crime. Meanwhile, Lawrence became friends with Sampat Nehra, who was the son of a police inspector, having interest in sports. This trio allied Lawrence, Goldie, and Sampat together started committing crimes in Punjab as well as along with Kala Jathedi in Haryana and Jitendra Gogi in Delhi. That was the time when Lawrence Bishnoi got involved in organized crime, and started demanding ransom from the liquor mafia, drug smugglers and businessmen. In 2012-13, when cases were registered against him, he left home and started living in different cities with the group.

Lawrence Bishnoi’s name is again grabbing headlines after his gang took responsibility for NCP leader Baba Siddique’s murder. Lawrence Bishnoi has now turned out to be the most fearsome gangster in India after terrorist & underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. Lawrence Bishnoi’s name is again attracting headlines in newspapers after his gang took responsibility for NCP leader Baba Siddique’s murder in the recent past. His gang stated that whoever would help Salman Khan and the Dawood Gang would be their target. By saying this, Lawrence Bishnoi has declared a war against the D-Company run by underworld Don and terrorist Dawood Ibrahim. Lawrence Bishnoi’s animosity with Salman Khan is widely known. However, he has become the country’s most fearsome gangster at present.

In 2014, Lawrence Bishnoi was arrested in Rajasthan and sent to Bharatpur jail, but he did not remain in police custody for long. When he was being taken to Mohali for production in a case, he managed to escape from police custody and fled to Nepal. He stayed in Nepal for several months and continued his illegal activities from there. Lawrence was arrested again in 2016, since then he is in jail currently lodged in Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat. Information reveals that nearly two dozen criminal cases including murder and extortion are registered against him being investigated by ED and NIA. On August 30, 2023, the Union Home Ministry also imposed Section 268 (1) of CrPC on Lawrence, so that he cannot be brought out of Sabarmati Jail for a year under any circumstances and his court cases ase now done through video conferencing.

Lawrence Bishnoi and his henchmen are recruiting minors as sleeper cells through social media. They brainwash minors. In February this year, 22 delinquents escaped from the juvenile correction home in Rajasthan. One of Lawrence’s henchmen had told the police that they get up to Rs 10 lakh for completing a target. If they are caught before completing the target, then after being released from jail again complete their mission left in-between. Information reveals, to join Lawrence Bishnoi gang, youths are lured with branded clothes, money and the promise of settling abroad and lead a luxury life and the new members are added through Facebook and Instagram.
Murder of famous Punjabi  Sidhu Moosewala in which 24 bullets were fired in one minute on 29 May 2022 when being following and was going to eat chaat sitting in his Thar car presented by one of his fans was shot dead by a young man pointed a gun at him. Sidhu also started firing immediately which continued from both sides for about a minute and Sidhu died in this firing. In the post-mortem report, 24 bullet marks were found on Sidhu’s body.  Lawrence’s partner Goldie Brar had taken responsibility for the murder of Sidhu Moosewala. He, along with Lawrence Bishnoi, lodged in Tihar Jail, made the complete plan to kill Sidhu Moosewala through his shooters. Among other sensational crimes by Bishnoi include firing at Jaipur’s G Club for 10 minutes on January 2023 when a party was going on at the G Club in Jaipur (Rajasthan) when some miscreants arrived there had arguments with the people partying and opened indiscriminate fire continuously for about 10 minutes, however fortunately there were no casualties during the firing. Later, a man named Hrithik Boxer of Lawrence Bishnoi Gang took responsibility for the attack. Murder of National Rajput Karni Sena President Sukhdev Gogamedi on 5 December 2023. Rohit Godara of Lawrence Gang took responsibility for the attack by posting on social media. Salman Khan’s house was targeted on 14 April 2024, in which two bike riders reached actor Salman Khan’s Bandra Galaxy Apartment and both fired 5 rounds. In this firing, one bullet hit the wall of Salman’s house, after the firing both the shooters fled leaving their bike on the spot. Later, Lawrence’s brother Anmol took responsibility for the attack by posting on social media.

Information also reveals, Lawrence gang includes professional shooters operating from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh and their network is spread across the world. It is said that his gang has more than 700 shooters, out of which more than 300 are associated with Punjab. However, the gang runs on the orders of only two persons: Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar, but the decision to commit a big crime is taken by Lawrence Bishnoi. Information also revealed that while in jail, Lawrence sends money to his shooters through hawala. Lawrence’s henchmen send the numbers of liquor traders, businessmen, and bookies to him in jail. Lawrence extorted huge money worth crores from these people by threatening them when he was lodged in Tihar jail in Delhi, Bharatpur jail in Rajasthan and Faridkot jail in Punjab. Lawrence gang was earlier limited to Punjab only, now spread across North India, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, Delhi, Rajasthan and Jharkhand. According to a report, weapons reach them from Punjab bordering Pakistan; besides this they also procure weapons from Pakistan, the USA, Russia, Canada, and Nepal. Experts believe that Lawrence Bishnoi knows that the safest place for him is the jail, since he considers jail to be the safest place for himself and wants that he should always be kept in a high-security jail so that his enemies outside the jail cannot reach him.
