Lesser growth of ACE-2 Receptor sheltered children from COVID-19

Both first and second waves of COVID-19 in our country were safe for children but adversely affected adults, mid-age and aged persons. Now terror exists among people in the country on rumours over suspected third wave of COVID-19 likely harmful for children, although government is taking all measures to fight disease suspected harmful for children also. Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said, necessary preparations are being made in Haryana state in this regard developing special COVID wards for children in all district level government hospitals in the state as well as setting up oxygen generating plants in 551 district level government hospitals all over in the country. Efforts are being made all over in the country to develop vaccination as well as availability of medicines for the treatment of children. Vij told that all prominent private COVID hospitals in the state has been directed to get installed own oxygen plants in their hospitals. He said, government in the state is well prepared to fight third wave of disease if arrives.

According to Dr Earl Gaganjot Jaspal a senior Child Specialist and Newborn Expert at Ambala City holder of State Paediatrician Award, Angiotensin Converting Enzyme-2  (ACE-2) Receptor played important  role to save children from Corona virus due to its lesser growth and worked as a safety cover for them as such  in-spite of mild action children below age 12 were saved due to protection to their nerves thus saving them from harms to lungs and the heart. Dr Jaspal advised parents as well as other members of family to wear face mask, keep distance from children as much as possible and provide them highly nutritious healthy diet to increase their immune system to save children from suspected third COVID-19 wave, although few experts hope there will be no such attack in the country.

According to Dr O.P. Kalra Vice Chancellor Pt. Bhagwat Dyal Sharma Health University Rohtak, approval for 100 Beds ICU at PGIMS has been obtained from the Haryana state government and work will start in a week’s time. According to PGIMS Rohtak information, during first and second wave of epidemic outbreak 1083 patients suffering from Corona were reported  died till first week of June 2021 which include 674 male and 409 females, of there seven were children of age up to 10 years thus recording 0.6% death rate. It was observed that nearly 25% children were found Corona positive but the infection was too meagre and there were hardly any serious symptoms in majority of children patients.

Information also reveals, among patients died due to Corona at PGIMS Rohtak maximum number of 244 patients were of age between 60 to 70 years. The data revealed that 7 patients died due to Corona  were of age up to 10 years,  13 patients were of age between 11 and 20 years, 79 patients were of age between 21 and 30 years, 132 patients were of age between 31 and 40 years, 205 patients were of age between 41 and 50 years, 223 patients were of age between 51 and 60 years, 245 patients were of age between 61 and 70 years, 134 patients were of age between 71 and 80 years, 41 patients were  of age between 81 and 90 years and 5 patients were of age between 91 and 100 years.
