He said that every country has the right to deport illegal immigrants, such people are born somewhere else, but why do we feed them? The Cabinet  Minister was talking to media persons here and said the way 104 illegal immigrant Indians deported from America have returned to the country, has created a ruckus in the country. Some are raising questions on the government, while others are blaming America. This issue is being raised from the Parliament to every street and locality. Vij said, “Such people are born somewhere else, but we feed them. Why? They should go where they are born. Government should also make a policy in this regard and they should be sent back to their respective countries.” According to a senior official of the police department, an investigation has been launched against travel agents after the deportees were cheated by the agents, and several deportees have alleged that they were promised ‘green card’, citizenship and regularization by the agents, but this did not happen. Information also reveals that an SIT will be formed to investigate agencies that have cheated youths willing to settle abroad. The probe will be conducted by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Ambala Range IG Sibash Kabiraj, which was set up in 2023 by then home minister Vij to tackle the rising cases of ‘kabootar baazi’ who had suggested registration of immigration agents to avoid cheatings.
