Marriage like scene at village Timmowal of Harmanpreet Singh

Amritsar : The entire inhabitants of Timmowal glued with the Television to watch the performance of their lad  the captain of the Indian Hockey team have begun to distribute sweets to each other’s when Harmanpreet Singh-led Indian men’s hockey team secure a bronze medal with a 2-1 victory over Spain at the Yves-du-Manoir Stadium in Colombes on Thursday in 2024 Paris Olympics.

Captain Harmanpreet Singh, with two goals against Spain, finishes the tournament as India’s leading goal-scorer with a total of ten goals, said father Sarbjit Singh  adding that the last five to ten minutes were very tough for me ( father) as reciting constantly Waheguru for the victory of Indian hockey team.

The scene of the village was not less than any marriage function like in the family as crackers were burnt. A Sizable crowd thronged at Harmanpreet’s house to congratulate the family for the outstanding performance of the son of this village.

Harmanpreet is one of four players from Amritsar district in the team, along with Gerrmanpreet Singh (Rajdhan village), Shamsher Singh (Attari village), and Gurjant Singh (Khalaira village).

Harmanpreet Singh, ace-drag flicker, hails from Timmowal village. His father Sarbjit Singh is enormously  happy at the performance of the entire team said that the victory credit goes to the entire team as all played with die hard efforts for the nation.

Earlier when the match was being played in the evening as per Indian standard time the entire family including the father of the Harmanpreet were reciting Paath and praying for the victory of the Indian team. Father bowed down his head to express gratitude to the Almighty when the Indian Hockey team declared winner in the last match   today in the Paris Olympics. He also thanked the Punjab chief minister Bahgwant Singh Mann for announcing cash prizes worth Rs 1 crore each, said that it would boost the morale of players and encourage the Punjabi youth to opt hockey game. However, there are ten players from the Punjab who would be rewarded by the Punjab government.
