*3 Women and 1 man out of 4 youngest MPs

New Delhi, 6 June : Age only 25 years old, at that age, 4 newly elected women MPs are going to enter the temple of democracy. They are listed as the youngest MP in the country. These candidates are from different parties and from different parts of the country also, but the only similarity is their age. These four MPs are – Pushpendra Saroj, Priya Saroj, Shambhabi Chowdhury and Sanjana Jatav.

Four young people are going to take oath as the youngest members in the newly elected parliament. Three of them are women. All of them are 25 years old. Among them, Pushpendra Saroj and Priya Saroj fought on Samajwadi Party ticket. On the other hand, Shambhavi Chowdhury and Sanjana Jatav contested for Lok Jan Shakti Party (LJP) and Congress respectively. Shambavi is the daughter of Ashok Chowdhury, a member of Nitish Kumar’s cabinet in Bihar. Shambhavi Chowdhury defeated Sunny Hazari of Congress by a big margin in Samstipur Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar. This Sunny is the son of former JDU minister Maheshwar Hazari. Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Shambhavi Chowdhury as the youngest NDA candidate during the her election campaign.

Another youngest woman member of parliament, Sanjana Jatav, won from Rajasthan’s Bharatpur Lok Sabha constituency. She defeated BJP’s Ramswaroop Koli by a margin of 51 thousand 983 votes. Sanjana, wife of a Rajasthan police constable Kaptan Singh, contested the assembly polls last year. But, she lost to BJP’s Ramesh Kheri by just 409 votes. This time she is going to step in parliament. 

On the other hand, Priya Saroj won from Machlishahar constituency in Uttar Pradesh by a margin of 35 thousand 850 votes. Three-times MP Tufani Saroj’s daughter Priya defeated outgoing BJP MP Bholanath.

Apart from these three girls, Pushpendra Saroj, a young boy, has entered the list of the youngest MPs. He is the son of former Uttar Pradesh minister and five-time MLA Indrajit Saroj. Pushpendra won from Kaushambi seat in Uttar Pradesh. He defeated famous BJP leader in UP, outgoing BJP MP Vinod Kumar Sonkar by 1 lakh 3 thousand 944 votes. This time, everyone’s eyes will be on how much they can make a mark in the role of MP.
