New Delhi : There is a say, “in politics there is no Friend and no Foe”. The BJP lost power and gone away  from South India after losing Karnataka in the assembly polls last year. Narendra Modi-Amit Shah have started returning the old warriors to their front before the Lok Sabha polls. And for this reason, the BJP leadership, which talks about fighting corruption, has no choice regarding the accused who have been arrested by the CBI and are on bail. One such old warrior of the BJP is Gali Janardhan Reddy, known as the mining mafia boss of Bellari in Karnataka. The CBI called him in the charge sheet as the “head of the biggest mining scam in the history of the country”. The Central Investigation Agency also arrested Reddy in that scam. The financially rich man Reddy came out on bail in 2015. The court imposed various conditions on him to enter to Bellari. However, during the assembly elections, his numerous scandals were discussed so much, the BJP kept distanced itself. Amit Shah also said that Reddy has no relationship with the party.

In this situation, Janardhan Reddy left the BJP and formed his own party called “KRPP”(Kalyan Rajya Pragati Paksha) before the assembly elections. After that, BJP was defeated in Karnataka, but Reddy became MLA from Gangavati constituency. When the country celebrated Holi on Monday, the BJP again pulled that Reddy into its forum. Reddy has also merged his party KRPP with BJP by commenting ‘ghar wapsi’.

Why ‘ghar wapsi’? Reddy, the former minister of the BJP government in Karnataka, said that his decision was due to the responsibility of making Narendra Modi the prime minister again. However, the mining mafia boss also said that the decision to joining BJP was not his alone but his supporters too. Recently, Reddy also voted for the Congress candidate in the Rajya Sabha polls. But after that he said that he felt, ‘the whole world now wants Modi as Prime Minister’, why he will keep himself in the back seat.

He went to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and asked that he would extend support to the BJP from outside. In Reddy’s words – “Amit Shah said there is no need for outside support, if I return to the team I will be kept in the team with respect.” After that, Reddy didn’t think twice about it.

BJP has fielded another veteran leader Jagdish Shettar from Belagavi who returned to the party before the polls. Former Chief Minister Shettar joined the Congress for a short time. Discontent among party workers in Belagavi was not suppressed by his return. But Shetter is not paying attention to this discontent. He claimed that despite going to the Congress, his contact with the BJP workers of Belagavi has not been lost. He is confident of winning from his constituency and going to the Lok Sabha.
