Mixed trend prevails in foodgrain market

CHENNAI: Prices of urad dal, thoor dal, moong dal and gram dal went down, while maida went up in the wholeseale foodgrain market. The rest of all other commodities ruled steady in the market.

Urad dal, thoor dal and moong dal were down by Rs.500 per quintal each at Rs.13,000, Rs.12,700 and Rs.8,300 from its previous rates of Rs.13,500, Rs.13,200 and Rs.8,800 respectively.

In addition, gram dal price decreased by Rs.100 per quintal to Rs.9,900 from Rs.10,000. In contrast, maida(90kg) went up by Rs.100 to Rs.2,700 from Rs.2,600. Following are the wholesale rates of various agri-commodities (rates in rupees per quintal, unless stated otherwise): Tur Dal Rs 12,700, Urad Dal Rs 13,000, Moong Dal Rs 8,300 Gram Dal Rs 9,900, Sugar Rs 3,900, Wheat Rs 2,900, Maida (90 kg) Rs 2,700 and Sooji (90 kg) Rs 3,200.–PTI
