Since the people of Delhi entrusted us with responsibility, in the last 10 years, we have built 31 flyovers. Today, we are inaugurating the 31st flyover. We have demonstrated 50% of the work done in the past 75 years in Delhi, in just 10 years. It only requires clear intentions.

Part of the 1.68-km Punjabi Bagh-Rajouri Garden corridor redevelopment plan, the 495-m half flyover will provide connectivity from Punjabi Bagh towards Azadpur, Britannia Chowk, Dhaula Kuan, Rohtak Road, and Gurgaon.

Meanwhile, PWD Minister Atishi said, “Everyone is well aware that earlier, one had to spend more than half an hour to cross this stretch of the Ring Road. Today, with the inauguration of this Moti Nagar flyover, people get great relief from traffic congestion.”

“As this flyover will eliminate traffic congestion, the speed of the vehicles will increase on this stretch, and it will help the people of Delhi save more than 6 lakh litres of fuel every year. This will also save travel time; 9000 man-hours will also be saved, and people will be able to spend that time with their family or on their work. This Moti Nagar flyover will also help us reduce more than 50000 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year,” she said.

Atishi further said till 2014-15, Delhi was known for traffic snarls and the AAP government has solved the problem in nine years.

“Delhi was in the fourth position in terms of traffic congestion earlier but today, it has come down to the 44th position. This means not only has new urban infrastructure come up, but it has also helped Delhi get away from long traffic jams. This is despite the increase in the number of vehicles and buses,” she said.
