MSCDA-Medipta tie-up to improve online drug supply system

India’s pharmaceutical sector got a fillip recently with the Maharashtra State Chemists & Druggists Association (MSCDA) and Medipta (a medical services aggregator) joining hands in encouraging and assisting the drug trade industry. Medipta app connects patients, doctors, diagnostic labs and chemists, besides other entities in the healthcare industry. 

While the Minister of State for Food & Drug Administration, Madan Yerawar launched Medipta in Mumbai, the MSCDA President Jagannath Shinde announced that Medipta would be the Technology Partner for Chemists and Druggists in Maharashtra. “MSCDA will channelize the entire pharma logistics in an organized manner to minimize wastage, while optimizing operating cost and working capital. The collaboration with Medipta will ensure that chemists & druggists become an organized and strengthened pharmacy retail chain, while also increasing business by connecting people in the same field everywhere.’

Declaring the “Online” drug supply system as a major threat to all retailers, distributors and allied medical services, Shinde said that Medipta would be aggregating all retailers to reach patients in 20 minutes through its digital prescription and delivery management software. The MSCDA-Medipta tie-up would ensure Stockists supplying medicines to chemists as per necessity, and chemists/pharmacists supplying medicines to patients and doctors while maintaining prescription records and stock inventory through this app, he said.

He said the tie-up’s other beneficial features included; medical guidance/ treatment including timely medicine reminder system and even a pregnancy app; Providing doctors/hospital/clinics information about patients for treatment accordingly; Test labs/radiologist/diagnostic centres providing related tests and diagnostic facilities to patients and uploading reports online; Allied medical services like blood banks, PHCs, ambulance and insurance on this app.
