MSME ministry extends help to FICCI’s women wing to set up support centres

New Delhi :  MSME Ministry is willing to help Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry’s (FICCI) ladies Organisation (FLO) to create MSME support centre in various parts of the country including Pune, said Narayan Rane, Union Minister of MSME on Wednesday. 

Speaking at an interactive session on ‘Use of technology & AI to foster growth of women led MSMEs’ organised by FLO, he said adoption of advanced technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) by women led MSMEs can serve as a tool for growth for businesses in building their resilient capacity.

“The government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done a lot to improve MSMEs access to financing, information infrastructures and international markets. Providing regulatory, legal and financial frameworks conducive to entrepreneurship and small firms as well as startups has been our priority. Advancement of digital technologies and development of digital service models especially for women led MSME’s offer small businesses enhanced accessibility to business tools,” he said.

“The continuous nurturing of this sector, along with measures to embrace new technologies and favourable government policies, will be crucial to promoting the MSME sector and positioning them on the world map,” Said Sudha Shivkumar, National President, FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO).

“FLO has a dedicated vertical , the MSME Assist that aims at providing assistance and support to women entrepreneurs who are looking to start or grow their own MSME businesses,” she added.  “The objective of this cell is to equip women with the necessary tools to succeed in the MSME sector, by providing access to valuable resources, handholding, and mentoring. FLO plans to open Six MSME assist centres for women enterprises in various parts of the country including one in Pune,” she said.
