Mumbai: India’s biggest ‘Rap” music battleground will soon be witnessing the next generation of rap stars, even as the POCO “MTV Hustle 03 REPRESENT” gears up for a new blockbuster season.
Global trailblazing rap artiste Badshah, with eminent rap powerhouses Squad Bosses Ikka, Dee MC, Dino James and EPR—are set to usher in these rapsters through the rap reality television show that will air starting October 21, Saturday and Sunday at 7. Pm on MTV and JioCinema.
This season’s clarion call “India Ab Tumhari Bari” with focus on the country’s youth highlights celebration of one’s ideologies, beliefs, issues, music, passion, culture, hood, stories and identity, while reinforcing MTV as a +culture catalyst+ that put ‘desi hip hop’ on the global map.
Visionary multi-genre Music Producer in India Hip-Hop Karan Kanchan, whose biggest tracks include “Baazigar, Satya and Aane De,” said the talent on this show was only the “tip of the iceberg” and it will be elevating the musical spectrum, while contestants showcase their talent before celebrity guests.
Music producer Anurag Saikia of Panchayat fame, who will bring in sounds of the country’s heartlands relatable to the youth, said that this season of MTV Hustle would highlight a remarkable portrayal of India’s diverse musical influences and history.
Badshah, while expressing excitement on the new MTV season, noted that this represented India’s ‘only’ hip-hop stage featuring the Indian youth’s dreams and aspirations.
Squad Boss Ikka, who leads the “Ikka Gangsters,” Squad Boss Dee MC of Dee MC Dynamites, Squad Boss Dino James of Dino Warriors and Squad Boss EPR of EPR Rebels all highlighted MTV Hustle for its contribution towards showcasing the country’s musical rap talent.
EPR said the heart of Rap music was in its storytelling, especially conscious poetry and desi hip-hop that had its own trajectory.
This 3rd Hustle 3.0 season, JioCinema will be introducing a “Fantasy League” designed to allow audiences to make their own squad to win point for predicting which contestants get a Radio Hit, highest squad scores and eliminations.
The latest season is also highlighting higher stakes, where the Squad Bosses will battle it out with 16 contestants for the glory.
Meanwhile, a sneak peek at the contestants going thru their ‘rap’ paces also witnessed their unique singing choices including one rapster describing an episode of him and two other friends being caught riding triple-seat on a bike by the local cop and then apologizing profusely for their mistake.
