Murder or suicide ? death mystery of Armyman unsolved since 5 days

Ambala : In-spite of joint efforts by the teams of Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), Parao police station Ambala Cantt, CIA Staff of Ambala police, Army Police and Forensic experts the death mystery of a army Havaldar identified as Pavan Shankar originally hailing from village Kalai in Kanpur district (U.P) presently working with the army’s 40 SD Unit at Ambala Cantt could not be solved in past four-five days. Body of Pavan was recovered in pieces scattered on the side of a railway track a few kilometers from Ambala Cantt railway station. The investigation teams are yet not sure if Pavan was killed or e committed suicide by jumping before a running train. The exact position as regard the death would be clear after receipt of viscera report from Forensic Laboratory Madhuban (Karnal).

According to the complaint lodged at Parao police station Ambala Cantt by deceased’s wife Ragini, her husband had left house in the evening to visit temple at Ambala Cantt last Friday but didn’t return home till late night, when she got a message on her mobile phone at around 11.40 PM that ‘We are sending your husband to Khuda, ask Indian army to save him – Pakistan Zindabad’ and the phone call was immediately disconnected. The message was repeated on line also’ The mobile phone of Pavan was found switched off after that. His wife along with neighbours lodge a complaint with army police which started search along with the civil police and the body of Pavan cut in pieces was recovered by GRP police lying at a lonely place on the side of railway track about few kilometers from Ambala Cantt railway station, said GRP SHO Dharambir that they failed to trace out Pavan’s mobile phone at or near the place of incident.

According to information, police conducted thorough search for the incident in past few days but failed to find any clue if it was a case of murder or a suicide and now awaiting report from the Forensic Laboratory to carry out further investigation from different angles. Police also recreated a scene by keeping an effigy on the rail track to find out if it was a case of accident or a case of suicide. Police investigation teams also working 9n different theories and also checked Pavan’s bank account if he was under heavy debts and found that he had secured loans from different sources and also invested money at different places. Investigation was made by the police if the body was brought to the location of the incident alive or dead, since no automobile could have reached  the location of the incident surrounded by trees and thick bushes all around.
