Narrow escape for Police sub inspector as explosive material found under his SUV

Amritsar, August 16 – It was a narrow escape for Punjab Police Sub Inspector Dibagh Singh when a suspected explosive material was found under the wheel of his SUV (Bolero Jeep) parked outside his house here today.

Confirming the incident, Police said that today when a car cleaner boy noticed some suspicious object during the cleaning of the SUV, the owner of the SUV Punjab Police Sub inspector Dilbagh Singh was informed. A heavy police force led by senior police officers reached on the spot at plush Ranjit Avenue locality along with bomb disposal squad and suspected explosive material was defused.

Police said that as per CCTV cameras two bike borne unidentified persons were noticed keeping explosive material under the SUV and fled away from the spot.

Police said that investigation was being done on a war footing level to find out the clue about the accused who wanted to blow up the SUV of the Police officer but with God grace he escaped unhurt as explosive material was noticed well in time. If the wheels of the SUV crushed the explosive object, it may explode.
