National Sports Day Celebrated across Gagan Narang’s Gun for Glory Academies all over India

New Delhi : As India celebrated the National Sports Day to mark the birth anniversary of Indian Hockey Legend Shri Major Dhyan Chand, the pistol and rifle shooters training at the Gagan Narang’s Gun for Glory academies all over India marked the day with numerous activities.

While shooting matches were organised across a few centers, some academies celebrated the day with special team building activities including drawing competitions and sports quizzes. The celebrations began across each center with a small ceremony remembering the achievements of Major Dhyan Chand.

Some academies also organised outdoor sports activities celebrating India’s indigenous sports. Football, sprint racing, and other outdoor sports activities were also organised across some locations to further promote sports.

Speaking on the occasion, *Shooting legend and India’s Chef-de-Mission at Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Gagan Narang said,* _”We are delighted to see a tremendous response from our athletes and academies who are celebrating National Sports Day with such vigour. As a former athlete myself, I know the importance of sports in our day-to-day lives. Through sports, we learn numerous important values and learn to channel ourselves in the right direction. We wish a hearty National Sports Day to the people of India and I encourage everyone to choose sports as a way of life.”
