NBCC to redevelop three housing colonies in Delhi

New Delhi: State-owned construction firm NBCC has said it will implement re-development of three housing colonies located at Sarojini Nagar, Nauroji Nagar and Netaji Nagar in the national capital.

To ease the problem of shortage of government accomodation in the national capital, the government had earlier this month decided to rebuild seven housing colonies to double the existing housing units from 12,970 units to 25,667 at a total cost of Rs 32,835 crores.

In a filing to the BSE, NBCC (India) Ltd informed that “the Union Cabinet in its meeting held on July 5, approved the Redevelopment of seven old GPRA (General Pool Residential Accommodation) colonies viz, Sarojini Nagar, Nauroji Nagar, Netaji Nagar, Kasturba Nagar, Thyagraj Nagar, Sriniwaspuri and Mohammadpur at Delhi.” “NBCC will be the implementing- agency for three GPRA Colonies at Sarojini Nagar, Nauroji Nagar and Netaji Nagar,” it added. NBCC, under the administrative control of Ministry of Urban Development, is present in three main segments — Project Management Consultancy (PMC), Real Estate Development and EPC Contracting. — PTI
