Nearly 400 immigration agents in Haryana police net

On the direction of Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij, Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted in the state comprising of seven IPS officers led by Bharti Arora IGP Karnal range to take action against fake immigration agents mushrooming in the state cheating Haryana youths sending them abroad on the basis of fake documents. Earlier, Punjab was famous for fake immigration agents, but now Haryana leads in this regard. Hayana state government came in action when hundreds of youths arrested by police in United States while crossing border illegally at USA were caught by police and army, had to spent long time in jails and after corona virus spread these youths paid amount worth lakhs of rupees to cheat immigration agents were sent back to India.

Bharti Arora IGP told that state police has registered 254 cases at various police stations in which SIT investigating the case, nearly 30 immigration agents has already been arrested by police from whom amount worth over Rs 35 lakh has been recovered so far. She told that during year 2018-19, such immigration agents had sent large number of youths abroad on the basis of fake documents and had to return disappointed after losing huge amount paid to such cheats and complaints were lodged with police stations in the state lying dumped in files so far without any action by the police.

SIT chief Bharti Arora told that Vij has directed to take action against immigration agents cheated complainant youths in past and no action taken against them so far as such there are now total number of more than 400 cases in which complainants are awaiting justice so far. Information reveals, Vij had a detailed discussion in a meeting with Bharti Arora IGP on Sunday in which she was directed to take prompt action against all accused and provide justice to cheated youths.
