Nuh : Police arrested 15 cyber ‘thugs’ in a special operation in the Mewat area, and registered 12 separate cases against fraudsters. DSP Headquarters Harendra Kumar said that action was taken on behalf of different teams of Nuh Police which recovered 20 mobile phones, 29 fake SIM cards, 250 fake gold coins (Mughal era gold ashrafiyan) and 1 fake gold brick from their possession. These accused used to deceive people by posting fake advertisements on social media and used to cheat them. Nuh police teams took action against such cheats who were caught from the villages of Palla, Sounkh, Nai and Noonh Hodal Road and Mumbai Vadodara Expressway.
The accused used to hide their identity on social media adopting measures like hotel booking, sextortion, fake gold coin holders, online rapido taxi ads friendship with females and preparing obscene videos for blackmailing of people using fake SIMs and mobile phones threatening to go viral and cheating people by depositing money into fake accounts fraudulently taking money from the public online and committing cyber frauds. Apart from this, they used to hide their real identity and make obscene videos for cheating people to get money.
Among those arrested were identified as Gaffar resident of Badarpur police station Nagina, Irshad resident of Nai police station Bichhoor, Aslam resident of Ghata Shamshabad police station Ferozepur Jhirka, Shabir resident of Bavla police station Sadar Tawdu, Muhammad Kaif resident of Pathkhori Police station Ferozepur Jhirka, Azaz resident of Chowki Bangar Nangla Utaw district Mathura, Shah Rukh resident of Sunari police station Sadar Tawdu , resident of Sohil Sakras police station Ferozepur Jhirka, Rashid resident Pachanka police station Hathin district Palwal, Shoaib residence Bisru police station Bichhoor, Arman resident Gulpada police station Sikri district Bharatpur (Rajasthan), Anis resident Noida police station Bichhoor and Mumford resident Suhaida police station Bichhoor.
Nuh Police has registered 12 separate cases against all of them. On interrogation by the accused, it was also revealed that the accused Armaan Putra Hameed, a resident of Gulpara used to provide fake SIMs and fake mobile phones of Uttar Pradesh and other states to the cyber criminals for use in cyber crimes.
