One among every seventh Indian mentally sick- a report

According to psychiatric health study report, one among every seventh Indian male or female in present busy life is found suffering from mentally sickness. Information reveals, as a result of increased cases of mental tension the number of suicide cases are constantly on rise, which include maximum number of males as compared to females. According to a health survey conducted in year 2015 it was observed  that out of total number of 19.7 crore Indian population nearly 14.3% persons were found suffering from mental tension.

Mental tension is generally caused due to mal-functioning of brain like other organs of human body affecting behaviour, sentiments and thoughts of a person leaving negative affect on brain. During a recent study, alarming figures were obtained when nearly 4.6 crore persons were detected mentally upset, nearly 4.5 crore persons were seen worried and nearly 4.6 crore persons under the grip of severe tension. Survey by Prof.Balram Bhargava Director Indian Medical Research Corporation further reveals that in the year 1990 nearly 2.5% population in the country was identified mentally retarded and witnessed increase to 4.7% in 2017. He said, body and brain are not separate organs in human body but similar to two sides of coin affecting each other..

Information reveals, in many cases children, too, are seen under the influence of mental tension generally due to idiopathic development, intellectual disability, conduct disorder and state of autism all over in the country but seen in excess in Northern states. It is seen nearly 40% adults in the country suffer from mental tension in one way or the other and the root cause is worries in daily life, women in Southern states especially in old age are worst affected There are six types of mental tension due to common mental disorders, worry, bad habits including excessive use of liquor and drugs, mentally weakness or psychosis, mentally handicapped, health deformities in old age and cases of down syndrome in children
