Talking to media persons, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on the issue of political parties in opposition preparing for ‘Maha-gathbandhan’ raised a question how quail (Bater), monkey (Bandar) and bear (Bhalu) may join hands to create a ‘Maha-gathbandha’ in order to face lion in coming 2024 polls. Focusing on Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Maan recently joined rally at Patna on formation of ‘Maha-gathbandha’ had made a statement as regard Narender Modi comparing him with a lion, saying that all leaders of political parties in opposition are joining hands to prepar themselves to face Modi similar to a lion and its surprising that now Bhagwant Maan himself has joined hand with this proposed ‘Maha-gathbandhan’ group.
While replying to a media question, Khattar said that leaders of political parties in opposition cannot be successful in uniting themselves because of their different views, policies, aims and self-vested interests as such ‘Maha-gathbandhan under such circumstances cannot be possible or prove successful under democratic circumstances. Khatter claimed BJP was successful in all rallies held recently in Haryana state including Amit Shah’s rally at Sirsa which is regarded as an non-BJP belt in the state.
Chief Minister Khattar, on a three-days tour of Sirsa for the ‘Jan Samvad’ programme had completed in eight districts and a plan was made for the remaining districts also during this month. However, BJP has taken a decision regarding simultaneous polls that would depend on the results in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram states where elections are scheduled to be held during this year ‘send. The rumours of differences between BJP and its alliance party the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) are going on, but both Khattar as well as Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala while talking to media persons making statements that alliance between both will remain continue but it is not clear if allies BJP and JJP will contest coming elections together jointly or independently, but sources also reveal that both parties are preparing for coming elections in case alliance discontinue.
Buoyed over party’s big win in Karnataka, the Congress in Haryana too is prepared for it having high hopes for victory in Haryana also in coming polls. The Congress is ever-ready, Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda said while interacting with media persons recently at Chandigarh, but it is not yet clear if both alliance partner will contest coming poles together or independently. Even as BJP workers at various meetings have asserted they want to go it alone, JJP leaders at their programmes have repeatedly said they are gearing up to contest all seats. in coming Vidhan Sabha polls in Haryana.
