Ordeals of deportees from US to India

Amritsar: “The life was not easy as I have thought, it was only realized when I  was deported from US to India  just after reaching at US, since I was arrested by the US  border patrolling forces due to entry in their country without legitimate travel document” says Jaspal Singh .

Jaspal Singh resident of Fatehgarh Churian fifteen kilometers away from the Amritsar city narrating his tale of woe said, “The life was not easy as I had planned. I have invested above Rs. 40 lakh to move to the US in search of greener posture in life and to give a better life to my wife and children living in India while earning a handsome amount in the US but my dreams turned into ashes, immediately after my arrest by US forces at Mexico border of US”.

Adding further he said, “Initially I went to Brazil on a valid visa then Europe as guided by the agent who charged a hefty amount to take me to the US but unfortunately he deceived me in a very bad manner. I was nabbed by the US border patrolling forces immediately after crossing US border”.

“After my arrest they handcuffed me and took me to an undisclosed location for eleven days. I only came to know about my deportation to India when I was forced to board a US plane with other Indians. At that time, all the Indians including me were handcuffed, even laces of shoes were removed to make us unable to escape even our feet were also chained till we landed at Indian Airport”, he narrated.

Singh said that having a dream to reach the US with thought of greener posture had to sell agricultural land in the village and loan  from different  institutions was availed but now all hope dashed to ground.

Another youth from Lalru Pardeep Singh (22) who was among 104 deportees from US also have similar story as his grandmother Gurmeet Kaur, father Kulbir Singh and mother Narinder Kaur at village Lalru of Amritsar said a huge loan was taken to send Pardeep to US but now with his deportation everything dashed to ground. The family has invested Rs. 41 lakhs to send Pradeep to the US. They said Parddep travelled almost six months to different nations to reach the US where he was arrested immediately after arrival by the border patrolling forces.
