Ambala: Work for developing a picnic point at holy ‘Amrit Sarovar’ in historic Panjokhra Sahib Gurudwara in village Panjokhra Sahib near twin city Ambala is going on with project cost worth Rs 78 crore. Large number of pilgrims from distant places are visiting this holy temple. Walking track on all sides of this holy Sarovar has already been constructed where people from adjoining rural areas arrive for the morning walk. Kinni Gupta BDPO Block- 2 Ambala and Amarjit Singh former Sarpanch village Panjokhra said that holy Sarovar exists in nearly 5.5 acre area having shelters constructed on two sides and the place for taking bath by the visitors on the third side. They said, there will be provision for boating also for the visitors arriving for the picnic.
Gupta said that the government has decided to further purify water in this holy Sarovar which visiting people use for drinking purposes as holy water also. He said, an order for five to six boats for the visitors has been placed so that the visitors arriving from distant places may enjoy boating in an approximately three acre boating area. He said work for the face -lifting of the picnic site and the installation of sitting benches for the visitors is going on in full swing likely to open this complex for the public within two to three months. According to Haryana State Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee members the proposed project will a attract large number of visitors from local as well as distant places.
