Bengaluru : Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated ‘India Energy Week 2023’ in Bengaluru on Monday and said that it is the first major energy event in India’s G20 presidency calendar. The India Energy Week (IEW) 2023 in Bengaluru will be held from February 6-8 and is aimed to showcase the country’s rising prowess as an energy transition powerhouse at Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre (BIEC).
Modi began addressing the India Energy week announced all possible help to the earthquake victims in Turkey, He said, “At this time we all have our eyes fixed on the devastating earthquake in Turkey. There are reports of many tragic deaths and extensive damage. The of 140 crore people of the india are with earthquake victims” he added.
Modi said,” Bengaluru a city filled with the energy of technology, talent and innovation. Just like me, you too must be feeling the young energy here. This is the first major energy event in India’s G20 presidency calendar. I welcome everyone to the India Energy Week event.” “Whatever the external circumstances, due to internal resilience, India overcame all challenges. He said, India is moving towards a target of 20 pc ethanol blending with petrol. Rs 10 lakh crore capital expenditure in Budget for 2023-24 will boost to green hydrogen, solar power and road sectors. Rs 18,000 crore PLI scheme has been launched for producing batteries for EVs. National Green Hydrogen Mission will give new direction to country in 21st century he added.
He said, India Energy Week 2023 first major event of G20 under India’s presidency. India has fourth-largest crude refining capacity in the world India’s gas pipeline network will expand to 35,000 km in next four-five years from 22,000 km presently. India is working on increasing refining capacity from 250 MMTPA to 450 MMPTA, he added.
Meanwhile, Petroleum Minister, Hardeep Puri, said, “Event India Energy Week was born out of the longstanding vision of PM for India’s role in the global energy transition while ensuring India’s energy security, affordability & accessibility to our citizens.”
Modi also flagged off the ‘Green Mobility Rally’, a rally witnessing participation of vehicles running on green energy sources to create public awareness for green fuels.Later Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s largest Helicopter Factory of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and unveiled Light Utility Helicopter in Tumakuru. Defence minister Rajnath Singh and CM Basavaraj Bommai were present on the occasion.
