Amritsar, February 12 Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s brother Pankaj Modi paid obeisance in the Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) here today.
His visit was kept highly secret as none of the BJP leader or activists were aware of his visit.
Pankaj, who is the younger brother of the Prime Minister, was accompanied by a group of some spiritual peoples of Hindu religion.
Official seeking anonymity confirmed his visit and said that Pankaj Modi was with his spiritual Guru, and spent almost half an hour in the Golden Temple. He said that there was no security with Pankaj Modi as he paid obeisance along with his spiritual master as an ordinary visitor.
On being contacted, city Police commissioner Jaskaran Singh said that Amritsar police were not aware of his visit in Amritsar. Moreover, there was no official schedule with the local police with regard to his visit, he said.
