Pre-natal sex examination racket busted with arrest of 2 agents,doctor absconding

Health department team Ambala led by Deputy CMO Dr. Balwinder Kaur on the direction by Kuldeep Singh CMO  Ambala conducted a raid at Navjeevan Hospital at Shamli  allegedly doctor involved in checking the sex of unborn child of a pregnant woman and arrested two agents identified as  Jitender and Rakesh Verma working as driver of State Bank of India cash van both residents of Kurukshetra district and from them police recovered Rs 25000 currency notes.

However, Dr Nadeem of hospital managed to flee along with portable ultrasound machine used by him. The team also recovered a machine to check heart beats of unborn child. A case was registered under NDPS Act by Shamli police accompanied raiding team of doctors and during search recovered nine MTP kits and nearly 35 tablets used to terminate pregnancy. Police has started search for Dr. Nadeem after registering a case against him under NDPS Act. Information revealed that Dr Nadeem was also arrested in a case allegedly checking the sex of unborn child earlier .

Health department Ambala on a information that both arrested agents Jitender and Rakesh were involved in illegal business in getting examined the sex of unborn child in pregnant women constituted a team of doctors who prepared a pregnant woman contacted both agents Jitender and Rakesh to find out sex of unborn child in her womb. The agents took pregnant woman to a nursing home at Kurukshetra reused to check the sex of unborn child with the help ultrasound test when both took her to another private hospital at Karnal which also refused to check the same and finally both took pregnant woman to Navjeevan Hospital at Shamli where Dr. Nadeem conducted a ultrasound test and declared a female unborn child. Police started search for absconding doctors who took portable ultrasound machines along with him.
